Born on Jul 19, 1974, in Nandgarh, Jind district, Haryana, Rekha Gupta pursued her education at DR College, Delhi.

In 1992, she began her political journey with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during her college years. 

She served as the President of the Delhi University Students' Union from 1996 to 1997, addressing student issues. 

Elected as a counsellor from Pitampura in 2007, she focused on public amenities like libraries and parks. 

She served as General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha, Delhi, and was a member of national executive committee.

In 2025, Gupta won the Shalimar Bagh constituency, defeating AAP's Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes. 

On February 19, 2025, she was announced as Delhi's CM, marking the BJP's return to power after 27 years.

Gupta becomes the fourth female Chief Minister of Delhi, following in the leaders like Sheila Dikshit.

Her oath-taking is scheduled for Feb 20, 2025, at Ramlila Maidan, with top BJP leaders expected to attend.
